Traffic
(Krolyn art. nos. 501 and 502)
|
Art. no. 501 - Jeep with trailer (photo 1-9)
The gallery shows that there are two versions of this early model. One is
without art. no. and manufacturer's name, while the other is embossed with
"501 Krolyn" on the underside.
Note: A (very small) photo in Danske Modelbiler, Collectors Priceguide by
D. Johansen and H. Hedegård shows the latter version without the JAWA
sign. The steering wheel on the example without "501 Krolyn" is not
original.
Art. no. 502 - Hellefyr (photo 10-12)
The Hellefyr has occasionally been associated with the older Tekno cars by
collectors and it must have been a good supplement. Oddly enough, the same
week that Stefan sent photo 12, I learned from a usually reliable source
that the 502 Hellefyr was also found in the Danish Police's demo or
educational material, in the same way that Reisler's soldiers were found
in the Danish Armed Forces' do.
After the appearance of the 501 Jeep, I have changed the title of this
page from Krolyn/Tekno to "Trafik" as of May 4, 2025. Tekno had exclusive
distribution of Krolyn around 1954, but I have no documentation that shows
a direct connection with Tekno and 501/502.
Thanks for the photos to the collectors Stefan, Sweden and Preben,
Denmark. The photos of Preben's jeep (without inscription) are a bit
lacking in quality, as I photographed it in the cafeteria at a toy market
in Aarhus last year... ☺
